Former England captain Micheal Vaughen gave his predictions for the ODI cricket World Cup 2023. His prediction got him hilarious trolling, most noticeably from the former Australian batsman Mark Waugh.
Micheal Vaughen made an interesting prediction about the semi finalists of World Cup 2023. He chose India and England as two favorite teams for World Cup title. he did not pick Australia even for semi-finals.
Micheal predicts that South Africa and Pakistan will make it to the semi-finals alongside India and England.
2005 Ashes-winning captain Vaughen tweeted “Can’t wait for the World Cup to start this weak .. my 4 semi finalists will be … England South Africa India Pakistan .. #CWC2023.”
Excluding Australia from the semi finals blew up and Vaughen’s prediction included many of Ashes comments and memes from fans.
Mark Waugh replied, “You’ve lost your marbles.” after not seeing Australia in Vaughen’s semi-final prediction.
Vaughen also believes that whichever team manages to beat India will lift the World Cup trophy.
“It’s quite clear to me… whoever beats #India will win the WC… India’s batting lineup on Indian pitches is ridiculous… plus they have all the bawling options covered… it’s the only pressure or burden that could stop them,” Vaughen said.
India were in stunning form last month, winning the Asia Cup 2023 and recently defeated Australia 2-1 in the ODI series.
